Top Beatles Sing-Alongs Oct 7th 2011, 10:13 Sure, The Beatles have written and performed some great songs, no doubt about that. But what if you want to share your love of The Fab Four with your little ones? Where do you start? Which songs or albums do you pick? The best idea is to enjoy the songs with them, not play the songs at them. Looking through The Beatles’ albums, I picked out fourteen tunes that would be best for Beatles sing-alongs, songs that’ll get the whole family to join in. Courtesy Apple/EMI/Parlophone/Capitol Very simple lyrics, easy-going tempo, and that “Pleee-ee-ee-eeeease…†in the chorus…who could resist singing along? Courtesy Apple/EMI/Parlophone/Capitol One of the most rockin’ love songs ever! Sung quietly and slowly, this makes for a beautiful lullaby, as well. Courtesy Apple/EMI/Parlophone/Capitol Relentlessly upbeat, another great chorus (No no no, nooooooo!), and the guitar solo is just nuts! Courtesy Apple/EMI/Parlophone/Capitol Another great rock love song. This tune could be sung to any kid, just replace “babe†and “girl†in the lyrics with the child’s name! Courtesy Apple/EMI/Parlophone/Capitol Everybody now: "Helllp!" I love the line in the chorus "...and I do appreciate ya bein' 'round..." Plus, it's kinda funny to hear a little kid sing "When I was younger, so much younger than today..." Courtesy Apple/EMI/Parlophone/Capitol The A-A-A-B rhyme scheme is easy for kids to pick up, the title character is mysteriously interesting, plus the ridiculously beautiful middle eight and gorgeous harmonies throughout make this tune an absolute classic. Courtesy Apple/EMI/Parlophone/Capitol Hands down, the coolest kids' song ever written. Courtesy Apple/EMI/Parlophone/Capitol You just can’t beat the childlike imagery! “Tangerine trees and marmalade skies,†“Newspaper taxis appear on the shore,â€â€¦now, those are fun words to sing. Courtesy Apple/EMI/Parlophone/Capitol One of the best sing-alongs ever! I use this tune in my toddler music programs because most preschoolers are familiar with the words used in this song. Courtesy Apple/EMI/Parlophone/Capitol A great story song about a family who loves each other. And another fantabulous chorus! | |
