I'm always on the lookout for lullaby�albums by newer artists, especially music that's off the beaten lullaby path. Great examples�of "naptime music"�are Kesang Marstrand's Hello Night and Dean Jones' Napper's Delight, both of which are included on our list of Best New Lullabies for Babies. The album reviewed here, Charlie Hope's World of Dreams: Soothing Songs and Lullabies, fits in perfectly with the aforementioned CDs.
The closest musical peg upon which to hang Hope's style would be a�mashup of �the vocal stylings of The Sunday's Harriet Wheeler backed by a very quiet version of The Smiths. Atmospheric, shimmery, and full of imaginative imagery, Charlie Hope's World of Dreams is a welcome addition to our list of Best New Lullabies for Babies, and should be in every parents' collection of chill out, naptime tunes.
